Full Job Description Description:
A growing property management company is seeking experienced plumbers with a minimum of five years of practical plumbing experience to join their team. The position offers a rotating schedule, either Monday through Friday or Saturday to Wednesday, ensuring two consecutive days off each week. Work hours start at either 8 am or 10 am, with a guaranteed 40-hour workweek and potential overtime as needed. Importantly, there are no on-call hours, promoting a better work-life balance.
Responsibilities:
Comfortable interaction with tenants and providing excellent customer service. Skilled in unclogging drains of various sizes, from 1-1/2" to 4". Maintenance and repair of multiple properties, focusing on a wide range of plumbing issues. Assembly of pipe sections, tubing, and fittings using various tools and methods. Installation of pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances, and fixtures. Creating openings in structures for pipe and fitting accommodation. Repair and maintenance of plumbing systems, including work in confined spaces. Additional knowledge in electrical systems, particularly in replacing worn parts, is advantageous. Ability to locate and mark pipe installation positions and connections accurately. Proficiency in measuring, cutting, threading, and bending pipes. Familiarity with 100-gallon water heaters and boiler systems, including maintenance and operational procedures. Knowledge of pro-press machines and techniques is beneficial. Awareness of all Los Angeles City codes and requirements. Safety knowledge, particularly in lead paint and asbestos abatement practices, is an asset.
Requirements:
High School Diploma - or the equivalent (GED) Trade qualifications- Post-Secondary Certificate Minimum 5 years of plumbing experience. Must have reliable means of transportation for work, transporting tools and materials. Proof of automobile insurance required. Must have a valid Driver's License Basic hand tools are required. Ownership of a drain snakes are a plus, but not required. Commitment to accurate and high-quality work. In-depth knowledge of maintenance and repairs of plumbing systems. Understanding of the current regulations within the field. Excellent interpersonal communication skills on a technical level. Able to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to read, interpret and understand work orders in English. Candidates must have and maintain their own vehicle for work purposes, including transporting tools and materials, and provide proof of automobile insurance. Basic hand tools are required, and owning a drain snake is advantageous but not mandatory. We provide a bi-weekly gas allowance and a monthly tool allowance. Travel primarily covers the Valley, Newhall, and Los Angeles areas. We offer all major holidays off, a unique benefit not typically available in other plumbing roles. Additionally, employees receive one floating holiday and their birthday off. This full-time position includes medical benefits after a probationary period and performance review. Employees are also eligible for vacation after one year, along with annual reviews and potential wage adjustments.
