Journeyman Plumber Reports To:
Pete Whiteside, Plumbing Manager Position Summary The Journeyman Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting commercial plumbing systems while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer service. As employees gain experience and demonstrate increased technical ability, leadership, productivity, and independence, they may progress through Journeyman Levels I, II, and III. Journeyman Plumber I Experience Newly licensed Journeyman or equivalent experience. Typically 0-3 years as a Journeyman. Skill Expectations Installs commercial plumbing systems under general supervision. Understands commercial plumbing codes and follows company standards. Reads basic blueprints and construction drawings. Installs water, waste, vent, fuel gas piping, and other hydronic process piping systems. Performs plumbing and equipment fixture installations. Completes pressure testing and inspections. Performs repairs and maintenance on plumbing systems. Maintains organized work areas. Uses company equipment safely. Completes daily paperwork accurately. Demonstrates reliability and professionalism. Works safely with minimal coaching. Leadership Expectations Works well with crew members. Accepts coaching. Maintains a positive attitude. Communicates effectively with supervisors. Adheres to all GMMI policies and procedures outline in the GMMI Handbook Represents GMMI professionally. Tools Required

- 4' Level Journeyman Plumber II Experience Typically 3-6 years as a Journeyman.
Demonstrated ability to work independently. Skill Expectations Independently completes commercial plumbing installations. Interprets complex blueprints and specifications. Performs advanced troubleshooting. Installs water, waste, vent, fuel gas piping, and other hydronic process piping systems. Coordinates work with other trades. Identifies potential construction conflicts before installation. Maintains high productivity with minimal supervision. Performs quality control on completed work. Understands scheduling and sequencing of work. Assists in planning material needs. Trains and mentors apprentice plumbers. Leadership Expectations Leads small crews when assigned. Acts as plumbing foreman on small scale projects. Provides on-the-job instruction. Promotes safe work practices. Maintains strong customer relationships. Demonstrates initiative and accountability. - 4' Level Journeyman Plumber III Experience Typically 6+ years as a Journeyman.
Recognized as a senior technical resource. Skill Expectations Performs the most complex commercial plumbing installations. Solves difficult field problems independently. Installs water, waste, vent, fuel gas piping, and other hydronic process piping systems. Coordinates multiple phases of plumbing work. Assists the project manager with manpower planning. Reviews drawings for constructability. Identifies value engineering opportunities. Oversees quality of plumbing installations. Performs advanced diagnostics and system troubleshooting. Coordinates inspections and code compliance. Assists with project scheduling and planning. Maintains excellent productivity while minimizing rework. Serves as the technical expert for the plumbing team. Leadership Expectations Leads crews effectively on small and large scale projects as lead foreman. Coaches Journeymen and Apprentices. Helps develop training opportunities. Demonstrates exceptional professionalism. Promotes teamwork and accountability. Sets the standard for craftsmanship and safety. Assists with customer communication when needed. Acts as a liaison between general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, business partners and GMMI employees Adheres to all GMMI policies and procedures outline in the GMMI Handbook Represents GMMI professionally Essential Duties & Responsibilities Install commercial plumbing systems. Repair and maintain plumbing systems. Install water, sewer, vent, storm, and gas piping. Install plumbing fixtures and equipment. Read blueprints and specifications. Troubleshoot plumbing systems. Complete pressure testing and inspections. Maintain quality workmanship. Follow OSHA and company safety requirements. Complete required documentation. Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers. Mentor apprentices when assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Current Journeyman Plumber License (or ability to obtain Colorado reciprocity). Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Ability to pass pre-employment screening as required. Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems. Ability to work independently and on a team. Physical Requirements Lift up to 75 pounds. Frequently bend, kneel, climb, squat, crawl, and reach overhead. Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Work on ladders, lifts, rooftops, and in confined spaces. Wear required PPE. Compensation:
The anticipated pay range for this position is $25.00 to $ 45.00 per hour . Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, certifications, licensing, and other job-related factors. The stated range represents GMMI's good-faith estimate of the compensation available for this position at the time of posting.
