Veterans Preference Job Summary The Plumbing and Mechanical Superintendent will be responsible will all aspects of plumbing and mechanical system installation projects, ensuring adherence to project specifications, schedules, budgets, and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and effective communication skills to guide field teams, and collaborate with various stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in plumbing and mechanical supervision, with a strong background in commercial or industrial projects.
  • Journeyman Plumber or Master Plumber license highly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of plumbing codes (e.g., IPC, UPC) and mechanical codes (e.g., IMC, UMC), as well as relevant safety regulations.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct field personnel.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and supervise all on-site plumbing and mechanical installations, including HVAC, piping, and related systems, from project initiation to completion.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project schedules, ensuring all milestones are met and potential delays are proactively addressed.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work progress, quality of workmanship, and compliance with blueprints, specifications, and building codes.
  • Lead and mentor field crews, providing technical guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, general contractors, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution and resolve any conflicts.
  • Oversee material and equipment procurement, ensuring timely delivery and proper storage on site.
  • Implement and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Prepare and submit daily/weekly progress reports, documenting work completed, resources utilized, and any issues encountered.
  • Manage project budget, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
  • Conduct quality control checks and participate in commissioning and punch list processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues that arise during installation.
