Day Shift with On-Call Responsibilities as Needed Company Vehicle & Tools Provided Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Master Plumber to lead the launch and growth of a new plumbing division within an established residential service company. This is a unique opportunity for a licensed Iowa Master Plumber to build a department from the ground up while remaining hands-on in the field. This role combines leadership, operational planning, customer service, and technical plumbing expertise. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, capable of creating processes and pricing structures, and excited to help grow a business unit while performing service, repair, and installation work. Key Responsibilities Department Development & Leadership Serve as the designated Master Plumber of record. Build and help launch a new plumbing division. Develop service offerings, pricing models, and operational workflows. Establish best practices, procedures, and service standards. Partner with ownership on department growth strategies. Assist with hiring, training, and supervising future plumbing staff. Create processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and profitability. Plumbing Operations Perform residential plumbing service, repair, troubleshooting, and installation work. Diagnose plumbing issues and provide repair recommendations. Install and service water heaters, fixtures, piping systems, drains, and plumbing components. Perform inspections and identify code-compliance issues. Ensure all work meets local, state, and industry requirements. Maintain accurate service documentation and job records. Customer Service Meet directly with homeowners and customers. Provide estimates and explain repair recommendations. Maintain a professional appearance and customer-first attitude. Build long-term relationships through quality workmanship and communication. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with Iowa plumbing regulations and licensing requirements. Follow safety procedures and industry standards. Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment. Required Qualifications Active Iowa Master Plumber License. Ability to serve as Master Plumber of record. Strong residential plumbing service and repair experience. Experience performing plumbing installations and replacements. Knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations. Clean driving record. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong communication and customer service skills. Preferred Qualifications Previous leadership or supervisory experience. Experience building, managing, or growing a plumbing department. Estimating and pricing experience. Experience hiring or mentoring technicians. HVAC industry experience is a plus.
Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
