Full-Time Seeking a NYC Construction Plumber with 7 years of experience responsible for installing, assembling, and testing plumbing systems in new construction and major renovation projects across the five boroughs. This role demands deep familiarity with NYC Plumbing Code, high‑rise construction practices, and the fast‑paced coordination required on job sites. Key Responsibilities Install complete water supply, DWV, storm, and mechanical piping systems in new residential, commercial, and mixed‑use buildings. Build out riser systems, branch lines, fixture rough‑ins, and final trim‑outs according to engineered drawings and NYC code requirements. Work extensively with copper, cast iron, PEX, PVC, CPVC, black steel, and stainless steel , including soldering, brazing, threading, grooving, and ProPress. Install and integrate booster pumps, PRVs, circulation pumps, backflow preventers, and water heater systems commonly used in NYC mid‑rise and high‑rise construction. Read and interpret architectural plans, mechanical drawings, shop drawings, and submittals to ensure accurate layout and installation. Coordinate daily with GCs, foremen, engineers, electricians, HVAC teams, and sprinkler contractors to avoid conflicts and maintain project timelines. Perform pressure tests, leak tests, and inspections required for DOB sign‑offs , including preparation for walkthroughs with inspectors. Follow all NYC DOB, DEP, OSHA, and site‑specific safety protocols , including confined space, hot work, and elevated work procedures. Document progress, material usage, and any deviations from plans; communicate issues proactively to supervisors and project managers. Required Skills & Qualifications Minimum 7 years of construction plumbing experience , preferably on NYC projects. Strong working knowledge of NYC Plumbing Code , DOB inspection processes, and high‑rise water distribution strategies. Proficiency in installing valves, pumps, PRVs, backflow devices, water heaters, and large‑diameter piping systems . Ability to work from detailed construction drawings and adapt to field conditions. Skilled in layout, measuring, leveling, and ensuring proper pitch for drainage systems. Comfortable working on scaffolds, lifts, mechanical rooms, shafts, and tight spaces typical of NYC construction sites. Excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to coordinate with multiple trades in a dense job‑site environment. OSHA 30 certification strongly preferred; additional safety certifications a plus. Valid plumbing license or registration strongly preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience on high‑rise residential towers, commercial skyscrapers, or large multi‑building developments . Familiarity with construction sequencing , including slab‑to‑slab riser installation, core drilling, and mechanical room buildouts. Experience with fire pump rooms, hydronic heating loops, and complex booster pump systems . Ability to mentor apprentices and junior plumbers.

$40.00 - $55.00 per hour
