Full-time Who We're Looking For We're a growing plumbing contractor expanding into large city and municipal work, and we're hiring a Texas Master Plumber to lead it. This role owns public-sector projects end to end — from prequalification and bid through submittals, field execution, inspection, and closeout — and owns the relationships that keep the next project coming. This is not a dispatch-and-react job. You'll be the face of this company to city engineers, project managers, general contractors, procurement officers, and inspectors. What you build in those rooms determines what we bid on next year. If you know how to win municipal work, deliver it clean, and get invited back, this is a seat with real runway. What You'll Own Roughly half your time in the field managing projects and on job walks, half in the office and in front of customers. Project Execution Serve as Responsible Master Plumber (RMP) of record on municipal, institutional, and large commercial projects. Run projects from award through closeout: mobilization, scheduling, manpower loading, procurement, and coordination with GCs and other trades. Own the submittal process — shop drawings, product data, RFIs, change orders, and as-builts.

Manage project financials:

budgets, labor and material tracking, monthly pay applications (AIA

), retainage, and change-order capture. Direct work on water supply and distribution, sanitary and storm systems, DWV, lift stations, backflow prevention assemblies, gas distribution, and large-diameter and underground utility piping. Coordinate inspections and walk the job with city and third-party inspectors until it passes. Customer & Stakeholder Relationships Build and maintain relationships with city departments, municipal utility districts, school districts, county facilities, GCs, and engineering firms. Keep the company current on prequalification and vendor registrations; track bid calendars and solicitation portals so we don't miss opportunities. Lead pre-bid walks, scope reviews, and bid strategy; prepare and defend proposals. Be the escalation point when something goes sideways — and resolve it before it reaches the owner. Team & Compliance Lead, develop, and hold accountable a crew of journeymen, apprentices, and tradesmen assigned to your projects. Enforce plumbing code, OSHA standards, trench and confined-space safety, and site-specific safety plans.

Ensure compliance with public-works requirements:

prevailing wage and certified payroll, bonding and insurance conditions, MWBE/HUB participation, permits, and licensing. Maintain accurate records of timecards, inventory, tools, and vehicles. What You Bring Texas Master Plumber license (required, active). Responsible Master Plumber (RMP) designation required or obtainable immediately upon hire. 7+ years of commercial plumbing experience, including at least 3 years on public-sector, municipal, or institutional projects. Demonstrated experience running projects at scale — comfortable with six- and seven-figure contract values. Working knowledge of the public procurement process: ITBs, RFPs, CSPs, JOC contracts, bid bonds and payment/performance bonds, and prevailing wage requirements. Ability to read and interpret civil, mechanical, and plumbing drawings and specifications. Strong technical command of commercial and municipal systems — water mains and distribution, sanitary/storm sewer, DWV, backflow assemblies, commercial water heating and boilers, gas systems, and underground utility work. Excellent written and verbal communication — you'll be drafting RFIs and standing in front of city staff. Clean and safe driving record; ability to pass background check and drug screening for secured and school district sites. Preferred Water Supply Protection Specialist (WSPS) endorsement and/or

backflow assembly tester certification. Medical Gas Piping Installation (MGPI) endorsement. OSHA 30, confined space, and trench competent-person certifications. Existing relationships within DFW-area municipalities, MUDs, or school districts. Experience with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, or similar).
