A Plumber installs and repairs water pipes, including drainage pipes, in homes or larger buildings. Installs plumbing fixtures or appliances that use gas, and fixes plumbing problems such as clogged pipes.
Ft Hood, TX The Plumber, Maintenance will maintain and service a variety of plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment in support of an Industrial Preventative Maintenance and Facility Maintenance Operations. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance on a variety of plumbing systems to include water distribution, non-potable water systems, fire protection systems, tactical vehicle wash facilities, and related equipment. Maintain commercial/industrial/residential plumbing fixtures. Maintain various pipes, various valves, connections, fittings, pumps, drains, packing, faucets, and spigots. Ensures work orders when complete are properly filled out and returned to work management Other duties as assigned Qualifications High School diploma or GED Minimum three (3) years field experience equivalent to that of a journeyman plumber in an industrial setting, maintaining building systems and components, preferably with experience supporting an industrial Preventative Maintenance Program. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Possess the skills and knowledge to maintain sump pumps, supply and drainage lines (clearing obstructions) Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work with hands and knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and practices used in the field. Demonstrated knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades involved. Demonstrated skill in the care and use of the tools and equipment in the trades involved. Demonstrated ability to understand verbal and written description of technical work-related problems (i.e. drawings, floor plans, etc.)
