(919) 850-9600 A mechanical construction company in the Raleigh area is seeking a BIM Coordinator to provide dedicated modeling and detailing support for commercial HVAC projects. This role centers on Revit modeling, multi-trade coordination, and producing fabrication-ready drawings that keep shop and field operations moving efficiently. It's a strong fit for someone mechanically minded who wants to grow into a true preconstruction role, and the team is willing to train the right person.BIM Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Model and detail mechanical systems in Revit, including ductwork and mechanical water and refrigerant piping
- Develop shop drawings and models to LOD 400 standards to support fabrication shops
- Create spool piece drawings for pipe fabrication, including cut lengths, material lists, and accessory dimensions
- Generate ductwork fabrication plans with dimensions, elevations, offsets, and transitions
- Lead and participate in clash detection and coordination meetings using Navisworks
- Coordinate mechanical scopes with other trades to resolve clashes and confirm field installation feasibility
- Map structural openings in steel and concrete for equipment, ducts, and chases
- Support field personnel and project managers with drawing interpretation and issue resolution
- Maintain organized logs of coordination issues, RFIs, and design changes
Job Requirements BIM Coordinator Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in Revit and Navisworks, AutoCAD experience a plus
- Background in mechanical systems and HVAC systems required
