Fabricator - Wire Rope & Rigging

Connect Staffing is hiring a Fabricator for an industrial rope and rigging manufacturer in West Sacramento, CA. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $21-$23/hr on a Monday-Friday day schedule. In this role, you will splice wire rope, fabricate chain slings, and operate swaging and proof-testing machines to build assemblies used in construction, crane operations, mining, and energy industries. This is a long-term placement with a company that builds specialty rigging products for high-stakes applications.

Distribution Yard and Shop Setting Responsibilities Splice wire rope and fabricate chain slings and synthetic rope assemblies to customer specifications. Operate industrial swaging machines, proof testing machines, cutting machines, crimping tools, and winches. Read and interpret blueprints, capacity tables, and order tickets to calculate cut lengths and fitting requirements. Use a tape measure and digital micrometer to verify dimensions and tolerances. Attach identification tags and labels to completed assemblies. Assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory record keeping. Minimum Requirements 1+ year of experience in a shop, assembly, or manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with wire rope splicing, rigging assembly, or chain sling fabrication. Familiarity with swaging machines, proof testing equipment, crimping tools, or winches. Forklift operation experience. Background in construction, crane, mining, energy, or oil and gas industries. Basic math skills sufficient to calculate cut lengths and fitting requirements. Ability to read a tape measure and digital micrometer accurately. Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, or order tickets. Pre-Employment Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 75 lbs. occasionally. Steel toe boots required (employee-provided).
