POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Crane Rigger with at least 1 year of field experience, a valid NCCCO Rigger I or II Certification (preferred), and a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). The ideal candidate will assist with lifting and rigging operations, inspect rigging gear, attach loads to cranes, and support safe, efficient crane setups and takedowns on various job sites.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Read and interpret lift plans, rigging diagrams, and load charts.
• Select appropriate rigging equipment based on load type, weight, and lift parameters.
• Inspect rigging gear and crane attachments daily to ensure safe operation.
• Communicate with crane operators and signalpersons to coordinate lifts and ensure alignment with safety protocols.
• Secure and balance loads properly using slings, shackles, chokers, and other rigging hardware.
• Assist in setting up and dismantling cranes and lifting equipment on job sites.
• Operate commercial vehicles to transport equipment and rigging gear as needed.
• Follow OSHA, ASME, DOT, and company-specific safety regulations at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and report any hazards or unsafe conditions.
• Participate in safety briefings and pre-lift planning meetings.
• Other duties assigned by the Crane Operator or Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a crane rigger or in a similar heavy construction role.
• Valid NCCCO Rigger Level I or II Certification (preferred)
• Signalperson certification (NCCCO or equivalent [preferred])
• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record (required)
• Solid understanding of rigging principles, load weight distribution, and crane hand signals.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
• Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification (preferred)
• Experience in crane rental, heavy civil, or industrial construction environments (preferred)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Mobility:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and balance on uneven or elevated surfaces.

Lifting/Carrying:

Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 75 pounds independently and occasionally with assistance.

Manual Dexterity:

Use of hands and fingers to handle rigging gear, tools, slings, and safety equipment; must be able to tie knots, secure rigging, and adjust hardware with precision.

Hearing/Speech:

Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with crane operators and crew members using verbal commands and hand signals; ability to hear warning signals and radio communication in noisy construction environments is essential.

Vision:

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Environmental Conditions:

Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, and varying terrain.

Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots.
