Non-Exempt Level I:

Entry-Level Production Operator (Wire Harness Assembler - Trainee) Job Summary The Entry-Level Production Operator performs basic wire harness assembly tasks under direct supervision while learning manufacturing processes, quality requirements, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Perform basic assembly tasks such as wire cutting, stripping, routing, taping, and bundling Load parts onto routing boards following work instructions Install basic terminals and connectors using manual tools Perform visual self-inspection of completed work Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area Follow all safety, quality, and attendance requirements Qualifications No prior wire harness experience required Ability to follow written and visual work instructions Manual dexterity and willingness to learn Basic reading, math, and measurement skills Performance Expectations (ALL Levels) Learns workstation tasks within defined training timelines Meets basic quality and productivity standards Demonstrates good attendance, safety compliance, and teamwork

Level II:

Experienced Production Operator (Wire Harness Assembler - Skilled) Job Summary The Experienced Production Operator independently assembles complex wire harnesses and supports production goals through consistent quality, efficiency, and adherence to specifications. Key Responsibilities Assemble wire harnesses and cable assemblies independently Interpret drawings, schematics, routing boards, and work instructions Perform crimping, terminal insertion, sealing, heat shrinking, and dressing Use powered and pneumatic crimp tools and semi-automated equipment Conduct continuity, resistance, and visual inspections Identify defects and participate in root cause and corrective actions Support training of entry-level operators as needed Qualifications 1-3+ years wire harness or cable assembly experience Proven ability to meet production and quality standards independently Experience with manufacturing documentation and quality checks Performance Expectations (Levels II and III) Consistently meets or exceeds productivity goals Produces low defect and rework rates Requires minimal supervision

Level III:

Production Operator - Solder Certified (Wire Harness Assembler - Advanced / Electronics) Job Summary The Solder-Certified Production Operator performs advanced assembly and soldering operations for wire harnesses and electronic assemblies, ensuring compliance with solder workmanship and customer standards. Key Responsibilities Perform hand soldering and rework on wires, terminals, connectors, and PCB interfaces Assemble high-reliability or high-mix harnesses requiring tight tolerances Follow IPC/WHMA-A-620 and/or

IPC-J-STD-001

workmanship standards Inspect solder joints for acceptability (visual and magnified inspection) Support troubleshooting, rework, and failure analysis Serve as a technical resource to operators and leads Qualifications 3+ years wire harness or electronics assembly experience Formal solder training and certification (company or IPC preferred) Ability to read detailed electrical schematics and solder criteria Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality Performance Expectations Zero-defect mindset on soldered assemblies Supports quality audits and customer requirements May assist engineering or quality teams on process improvements Working Conditions The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job Required to sit for long periods of time and frequent use of hands and fingers, to handle and feel Moderate activity, with occasional bending and stooping, standing and/or walking for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds while using safe lifting techniques Speaking and hearing: able to comprehend English language See and have visual capability: able to see screens, monitors, and environment Works inside, closely with others Generally works regular work hours, occasionally works after hours Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy and can be loud Warehouse/plant climate can be based upon outdoor weather conditions Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time Visual acuity for color codes, fine details, and inspection Repetitive hand and wrist motion
