- Commercial to join our team.
Summary of Position:
The Roofing Service Technician Helper- Commercial position will utilize their industry training and knowledge to effectively assist their assigned Foreman in the completion of service requests.
- Commercial position directly contributes to the success and profitability of the individual crew by effectively and efficiently utilizing their specialized skills and knowledge to help their Foreman solve customers' problems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintains truck stock and communicates material stock needs to Foreman. Assists Foreman with ladder set up and breakdown including locking down for safe travel. Maintains a professional personal appearance during all work order visits. Maintains assigned crew vehicle in a clean and organized manner at a minimum of aBI-WEEKLY
schedule. Communicates tool maintenance and replacement needs in a timely manner. Completes repairs according to MINIMUM established Roofing Repair Guidelines. Completes repairs within all OSHA and MaintenX safety standards. Communicates to Foreman any deviations from the established Guidelines. Assists Foreman with completing inspections using company software (XFactor and IAuditor) to deliver reports to our customers or estimating team for completion of proposals or preventative maintenance programs. Assists with updates of purchase orders in XFactor and providing costs to team members. Assists the Foreman with scope generation of recommended work including details, measurements, supporting pictures, requested equipment, specialty details such as Tile or Metal panels, suggested material list, and labor needed to complete the work. Assists in supporting the Recommended Work Program which is a key factor in the revenue and profitability of the service vehicle. Responsible for notifying Regional Service Coordinator, Regional Service Manager or Operations Manager regarding any sick, personal time or vacation requests. Assists all levels of management, as assigned. When necessary, additional duties may be assigned, and the company expects the Roofing Service Technician Helper- Commercial to exercise initiative to anticipate and prevent problems.

High school diploma or equivalent. One to two years of experience in low slope commercial roofing across all applications (BUR, MODIFIED, TPO, PVC, EPDM, METAL, COATINGS, andMETAL FLASHINGS
) One to two years of experience with steep slope systems across all applications (Asphalt Shingles, Tile, and Metal) Experience with hand tools and materials used in the construction field. Experience with working in a safety driven culture. Good communication skills both written and oral.Preferred Education & Experience:
Technical training from manufacturers (Firestone, Carlisle, Johns Manville, etc.) is a plus. OSHA 10, 30, Aerial Lift, Fall Protection, and CERTA active certifications is a plus. Three or more years of experience in low slope commercial roofing across all applications (BUR, MODIFIED, TPO, PVC, EPDM, METAL, COATINGS, andMETAL FLASHINGS
) Three or more years of experience with steep slope systems across all applications (Asphalt Shingles, Tile, and Metal) Experience with using roofing specific tools and equipment; such as a handheld heat welder and open flame torch, etc. Able to communicate in Spanish fluently is a plus.Additional Eligibility Requirements:
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team and with your Foreman. Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to deal effectively and respectfully with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels. Exhibits good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions, while able to support and explain reasoning for decisions. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Excellent verbal and written communication skills which are used to communicate professionally and effectively in person, or on the phone. Attention to detail with the delivery of repairs and the communication of those repairs is a MUST.Physical Demands:
Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance. Ability to work in hot environments during all seasons. Ability to lift and set up ladders in a safe manner.Work Environment:
This is a fast-paced team-work based environment.Travel Requirements:
Travel is required for completion of work orders. Most travel will be Monday through Friday. There will be occasional travel required over the weekends as work requires.
