This is a full-time, boots-on-the-roof safety role. You will be the set of eyes on the crew for the entire shift — verifying that fall protection, site rules, and OSHA requirements are being followed in real time, documenting what you see, and stopping work when conditions aren't safe. You will work daily alongside the roofing contractor's and customers EHS team andsite safety personnel. This is not a general labor position. You will not be performing roofing work. What You'll Do Provide continuous visual observation of the roofing crew during all active work, with primary focus on fall protection and roof edge/opening exposure Complete and submit two documented safety audits per day (start of shift and mid/late shift) Verify compliance with

• Fall Protection, and related standards), site-specific safety rules, and safety procedures Monitor and verify: warning line systems and setbacks, guardrails, personal fall arrest systems, anchor points and tie-off, harness and lanyard condition, ladder and roof access control, skylight and roof opening protection, material hoisting and staging, hot work, housekeeping, and PPE Participate in daily pre-task planning, JHA reviews, and toolbox talks Maintain a professional working relationship with the crew What You Need Required OSHA 30-Hour Construction card Prior experience in construction safety, industrial site safety, or as a safety observer/attendant Working knowledge of OSHA fall protection requirements for roofing and elevated work Ability to work at heights and access roofs by fixed ladder or extension ladder Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions for a full shift Comfortable enforcing safety rules directly with a working crew Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Must pass a background check and drug screen per on site access requirements Preferred Competent Person•Fall Protection First Aid / CPR / AED certification Experience on active manufacturing or heavy industrial sites Experience with commercial low-slope / built-up / single-ply roofing operations Confined space attendant or rescue experience Physical Requirements Walking and standing on roof surfaces for the majority of an 8-10 hour shift Climbing ladders and stairs Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs Exposure to heat, cold, wind, noise, and an active industrial environment Schedule Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM•5:00 PM Occasional Saturday work possible depending on weather delays and schedule recovery Project duration approximately 30-45 working days; hours are weather dependent Why This Job Buckeye Rescue provides confined space rescue, safety standby, and site safety services across Northeast Ohio.
