Wear safety equipment, as assigned, always Maintain assigned tools, equipment, vehicles and supplies in a clean, organized fashion Inspect various roofing systems for damages, leaks, and needed maintenance as well as recommend/justify proper repair and or replacement as necessary Report observed maintenance issues that need to be addressed by other divisions of the maintenance department Assist in obtaining materials and tools for the job using proper Dallas ISD purchasing procedures Communicate effectively with principals, department heads, District staff and all other personnel in scheduling various maintenance repairs Employee may be required to respond to after hour/emergency call outs, be placed on an emergency call out rotation and flex work hours to accommodate job completion Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned Qualifications High School diploma or USA equivalency Two (2) years of experience in repairing commercial type roofs Demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities under general supervision Demonstrated technical knowledge and skills needed for repairing various roofing systems where applicable Demonstrated technical knowledge and skills needed to operate and maintain roofing equipment as required Ability to safely set up ladders, scaffolding and hoisting equipment as required Demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities under general supervision Demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position Demonstrated skills in accurate record keeping and computer data base management, including work orders and material procurement Maintain a valid Texas Driver's License and a driving record that meets District standards Must pass Dallas ISD random drug test Bilingual is a plus
