Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ductwork Fabricator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming sheet metal and other metal materials into high-quality ductwork components used in HVAC systems. Your expertise in fabrication, welding will ensure precision and adherence to safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where craftsmanship and mechanical knowledge are highly valued. The ideal candidate will bring construction site experience, proficiency with power tools, and a strong commitment to quality workmanship. Duties Measure, cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and metal materials using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment. Perform welding operations securely. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to ensure precise dimensions according to specifications. Fabricate ductwork assemblies following industry standards including AWS (American Welding Society) codes and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) standards. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Collaborate with team members on assembly processes, quality inspections, and troubleshooting fabrication challenges in the shop. Skill Skilled in welding Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures accurately. Familiarity with shop math, basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations. Knowledge of safety protocols specific to metal fabrication shops and construction sites. Experience with plasma cutting, machining, assembly of duct components, and use of power tools. Mechanical knowledge related to sheet metal fabrication standards and construction codes like ASME. Strong attention to detail for quality control during fabrication processes. Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
