Loss Prevention Supervisor Location:

Islandia, NY WCD Warehouse is seeking a Safety / Loss Prevention Supervisor to oversee safety, security, loss prevention, and compliance activities within a fast-paced warehouse and distribution center environment. The Safety / Loss Prevention Supervisor will work closely with warehouse management and employees to promote a strong safety culture, identify potential risks, prevent loss and property damage, investigate incidents, and ensure company safety and security procedures are consistently followed. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong observation, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills who can work effectively in a busy warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily safety and loss prevention activities throughout the warehouse. Promote a safe workplace and reinforce company safety policies and procedures. Conduct regular warehouse inspections to identify unsafe conditions, hazards, and potential loss risks. Monitor compliance with safety procedures involving forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, loading equipment, and other warehouse equipment. Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, property damage, security incidents, and loss-related events. Prepare detailed and accurate incident and investigation reports . Identify the causes of incidents and work with management to implement corrective and preventive measures. Monitor warehouse operations for potential theft, product loss, unauthorized activity, damage, or other security concerns. Assist with developing and implementing loss prevention procedures designed to protect company assets, merchandise, equipment, and property. Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and employee training as required. Train and coach employees on safety, security, loss prevention, emergency procedures, and company policies. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training, investigations, and corrective actions. Work with warehouse leadership to address recurring safety or loss prevention concerns. Communicate safety and security concerns clearly to management and recommend appropriate solutions. Support emergency response procedures and coordinate appropriate actions during workplace emergencies. Assist with maintaining OSHA-related documentation and company safety records. Monitor employee and operational practices to identify potential safety hazards and policy violations. Assist with workers' compensation and injury-related documentation as required. Support audits, inspections, and compliance initiatives. Help develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to safety and loss prevention. Maintain confidentiality when handling employee, incident, security, or company information. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Safety Responsibilities Promote a proactive safety-first culture throughout the distribution center. Conduct routine safety walkthroughs and document identified hazards. Follow up on corrective actions to ensure issues are addressed. Support employee safety training and refresher training. Monitor proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Reinforce safe material-handling practices. Monitor warehouse traffic and equipment operating practices. Assist with emergency preparedness and response procedures. Identify trends in accidents, injuries, near misses, and property damage and communicate findings to management. Loss Prevention Responsibilities Protect company merchandise, equipment, inventory, and other assets. Monitor warehouse activities for potential loss or security concerns. Investigate suspected theft, inventory discrepancies, property damage, and policy violations. Review incident information and identify opportunities to reduce future losses. Work with warehouse and management teams to improve inventory and asset protection practices. Maintain accurate documentation related to loss prevention investigations. Support security procedures for employees, visitors, drivers, vendors, and contractors. Assist management in implementing preventive measures based on identified risks. Qualifications Previous experience in safety, loss prevention, security, warehouse operations, or a related supervisory role . Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and hazard identification. Experience conducting investigations and preparing incident reports. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to identify problems and recommend practical solutions. Ability to work independently and make decisions within established company procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, managers, drivers, and visitors. Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Warehouse or distribution center experience preferred. Experience working around forklifts and other material-handling equipment preferred. Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Leadership Expectations The successful candidate will lead by example and establish professional relationships with employees and management. This position requires someone who can communicate expectations clearly, address safety concerns professionally, and consistently follow up to ensure corrective actions are completed. The Supervisor should be comfortable working on the warehouse floor, observing operations, interacting with employees, and responding quickly when safety or loss prevention concerns arise. Work Environment This position is based in a fast-paced warehouse/distribution center environment . The employee may be exposed to: Forklifts Reach trucks Pallet jacks Loading and unloading operations Moving warehouse equipment Warehouse traffic Varying temperatures Elevated work areas Noise and other normal warehouse conditions The employee must be able to safely work around moving equipment and actively monitor warehouse operations. Physical Requirements Ability to walk and stand for extended periods. Ability to regularly move throughout the warehouse and distribution center. Ability to climb stairs and access different areas of the facility when necessary. Ability to lift and/or move materials within the requirements of the position.
