Job Title:
Sheet Metal Mechanic Job Description We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team, where you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft, specifically focusing on sheet metal and composite structures. Your expertise will contribute to ensuring the safety and serviceability of aircraft components. Responsibilities Understand and implement maintenance procedures and requirements. Possess a working knowledge of aircraft and aircraft systems. Read and interpret blueprints, aircraft drawings, maintenance manuals, and installation manuals. Build and repair sheet metal structures according to aircraft maintenance manuals or blueprints. Construct and repair composite materials. Assist with the disassembly and reassembly of aircraft panels. Install kits and build items per drawings and manuals. Repair aircraft parts using sheet metal or composite materials. Inspect items for serviceability. Assist other departments as needed. Participate in road trips as required. Ensure all tags are properly filled out and attached to respective parts. Work on Bell helicopters and Airbus models. Essential Skills Complete understanding of maintenance procedures and requirements. Working knowledge of aircraft and aircraft systems. Ability to read and understand blueprints and aircraft drawings. Experience with sheet metal fabrication and repair. Experience with composite materials. Attention to detail and reliability. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. 3-5 years of sheet metal experience is a plus. Composite experience is a plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a large hangar environment with a team of 45 employees, focusing on repairing and upgrading helicopters. The team services a fleet that includes Air Medical, Law Enforcement, and VIP/Corporate kits, components, and avionics packages. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Pleasant, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
