Summary:
The Hollow Metal Fabricator performs the fabrication of products as detailed by work order instructions to support the business and ensure the best possible results for our customers.
Responsibilities include the following:
Required to wear and use Personal Protective Equipment per Tri City Glass & Door and contractor policies. Fabricate products according to work orders and shop drawing within designed timeline/schedule. Read and understand work orders and shop drawings. Determine project requirements, such as scope, assembly sequences, or required methods or materials, using templates, drawings, work orders, or written or verbal instructions. Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material, such as door panels, using calculators, scribes, dividers, squares, or rulers. Fasten seams or joints together with welds. Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, or smooth surfaces, seams, or joints of assembled parts, using hand tools or portable power tools. Select gauges or types of sheet metal, according to product specifications. Load trucks as required for daily installations. Maintain and have knowledge of existing and new products with the commercial department as well basic construction. Cross reference all work-orders with work to be completed. Explain and direct installers on projects. Work with them to make sure jobs are done completely, correctly and on time. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous Fabrication experience in a construction environment, plus. Minimum of two years of welding experience required. Mechanical aptitude with familiarity with hand tools, tape measures and levels, etc. Ability to work well in teams. Ability to prioritize and multitask. Work Environment The work environment will be in a shop/warehouse environment.
