Job Summary:
The Solar Installer is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on rooftops or other structures in compliance with site assessments and schematics. This role involves working with a team to ensure efficient and safe installation while maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of electrical systems, be comfortable working at heights, and possess a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in renewable energy, electrical, or construction fields are preferred. Experience in solar installation or electrical work is a plus. Basic understanding of electrical wiring, circuitry, and solar PV systems. Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions. Ability to lift heavy equipment and work on rooftops. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to follow technical instructions, work independently, and within a team. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
Assemble and install solar panels, modules, mounting hardware, and other necessary equipment on rooftops or other structures. Ensure installations are completed to the highest standards, following company guidelines, manufacturer requirements, and local building codes. Perform electrical wiring and connection of solar panels to inverters and other system components. Conduct site assessments, including measuring, layout planning, and identifying potential obstacles or hazards. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair solar systems and components as needed. Maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, and any issues encountered. Follow all safety protocols and ensure a safe work environment, using personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to OSHA regulations. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients and addressing any concerns or questions. Assist with training new team members or apprentices as needed.
