Job Description
Job Overview We're looking for a Tile Setter/Contractor to join our team and help with a variety of work on our commercial construction projects. This is a hands-on position, so you'll be doing more than just one type of job. A lot of the work will include tile installation, trellis work, FRP, and both interior and exterior painting. There may also be some basic plumbing work and driving to and from job sites. We're looking for someone who knows their way around a job site, takes pride in their work, and is willing to jump in wherever they're needed. Being dependable, able to learn, and taking feedback well are important. If you like staying busy, working with your hands, and seeing a project come together, this could be a good fit. This position is an overnight shift typically starting around 9-10 PM. A valid drivers license is required. There is some travel, can be far but all travel expenses are covered and paid for. Requirements A valid drivers license Must be comfortable to drive a disel truck Must have experience pulling a trailer Must have experience with tile work Must have some experince with powertools Able to drive late after a late job occasionally Duties Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying appropriate underlayments to ensure proper adhesion of tiles. Measure dimensions precisely using tape measures and other tools to cut tiles accurately for fitting into designated spaces. Utilize hand tools and power tools such as tile cutters, grinders, drills, and trowels to execute installations efficiently. Perform related construction tasks such as caulking, grouting, plastering, stucco application, gutter installation, and trim carpentry as needed. Collaborate with team to ensure job gets done efficiiently Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to safety protocols at all times. Skills Some experience with tile masonry installation including laying tiles with precision. Strong understanding of construction estimating, inspection procedures, and interpreting technical drawings. Knowledge of building materials including grout, mortar, caulking compounds, plastering mixes, and trim components. Familiarity with plumbing and electrical systems related to tile work or associated renovations is a plus, but not needed. Skilled in the use of hand tools (e.g., chisels, trowels) and power tools (e.g., saws, drills) for precise execution of tasks. Strong attention to detail in taking dimensional measurements and following specifications accurately. Working efficiently while still doing good work.
