Most part-time construction work is unpredictable. This is not. Wallaby Homes builds, remodels and installs precast concrete pools across Middle Tennessee, and we have projects running year round. We need one reliable person on a continuing basis to own the last stretch of every job: the punch list, the finish work, and getting the grounds back to something we are proud to hand over. This is a lead role, not a labor role. You will be the last set of eyes on our projects before the client's.
WHAT YOU WOULD OWN
The punch list, from first walkthrough to final sign-off: drywall patching, touch-up paint, caulking, trim and minor carpentry, tile, doors and hardware, basic plumbing and electrical repairs.
The grounds:
final grade, sod and seed, mulch and plantings, edging, cleanup and haul-off, minor hardscape repair, and backyard restoration after a pool install. A crew of 2 to 5 workers, assigning the day's work and correcting technique on the spot. The quality standard on each project, and the record of defects, corrections and finished work.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Craftsmanship. Your finished work does not come back. Grounds and landscape ability. You know what a finished grade and a clean edge look like. Leadership. You can direct 2 to 5 people without friction and close out the day's list. Tool mastery across hand tools, power tools and small equipment. Inspection discipline. You catch defects early, document them and verify the fix. 5 or more years in construction, renovation, landscaping or property maintenance. Supervisory or foreman experience strongly preferred. Bilingual English and Spanish is a real plus on our crews, but not required.
THE PHYSICAL SIDE, SAID PLAINLY
This is outdoor work in Tennessee weather. Summer heat and humidity, winter cold, and rain the day before a client walkthrough. On your feet most of the day, with kneeling, bending, ladders and stairs. Regularly lifting and carrying 50 pounds, and handling heavier material with help. Loading, hauling and unloading tools, materials and debris between jobs. Holding the same standard at 3pm in August that you had at 7am.
TRUCK AND LICENCE
You need your own truck that can pull our trailer, a valid driver's licence, a clean enough record to tow for an insured company, and your own basic hand tools. We supply the equipment, materials and anything specialized. PAY Starts at $18 an hour for a 90 day trial. We review it after that, and good work moves it up.
