The Weatherization / Installer will be a part of the FCI Installation team, in support of the Non-Residential Direct Install program goals. The Installer must have a general knowledge of the energy efficiency arena and the principals of installation procedures. Duties may include installation/removal of electrical lighting fixtures, retrofitting of existing fixtures, proficiency in the use and care of power and hand tools and other tools of the trade.- Retrofit, installation and removal of various lighting fixtures and ballast.
- Conduct field analysis of potential homes or business facilities; determine opportunities for electrical and natural gas energy savings opportunities.
- Complete walk-through energy assessments of properties that identify key natural gas and electric saving opportunities.
- Ensuring safe and proper use of all hand and power tools
- Working with various electrical systems at client/customer facilities.
- Responsible for program reporting including audit documentation, cost tabulation, and audit findings in databases as appropriate
- Safe practices in the day-to-day activities such as ladder climbing, driving of company car, installation equipment.
- Proper maintenance and safe use of all job tools, personal and company owned: screw drivers, electrician pliers, tape measures, electrician knife and others as applicable.
- Inventory control: stocking and pulling of inventory and safe storage practices as directed by management.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude in all interactions with clientele and maintain excellent service through completion.
- Problem-solve issues arising in the field to help complete your task promptly,
- Must maintain working vehicle; clean, safe, and stocked with job supplies.
- Must clean up all customer sites at end of job and use best practices at customer's place of business.
- This position performs other job-related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Applicant must have the ability to obtain a certification Non-Residential Lighting Technician verifiable through the California Department of Industrial Relations. Company will assist in paying for cost of Certification.
- Applicant must have valid California Class C Driver's License, reliable transportation, and current automobile liability insurance in their name.
- Working knowledge of basic gas, water, and electrical principals.
- Knowledge of general commercial construction practices is a plus
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and must be able to interact with a diverse customer base and maintain effective working relationships.
- Must be fluent and proficient in English.
- Bilingual language proficiency is a plus.
- Ability to follow specific instructions and work effectively individually or as part of a group.
- Ability to work in elevated positions on a ladder for extended periods of time.
- Flexible and able to accomplish assigned tasks working independently or with a minimum of supervision.
- Prioritizing assignments and workload appropriately and responding to deadlines effectively.
- Must be able to climb a ladder, lift light boxes/equipment, up to 50 pounds.
- One of the following preferred: Heating and Air Conditioning System installation, sales or service Natural gas appliance installation, sales or service
