Monday-Friday, generally 8:00 AM-5:00 PM; occasional Saturdays during peak season Start a Career in a Specialty Trade Do you like working with your hands, learning how things go together, and seeing the result of a day's work? Dod Fireplace Installations is hiring an Entry-Level Installation Technician to help install fireplaces, stoves, inserts, venting systems, chimney components, and related hearth products in residential homes and new construction. No fireplace or trade experience is required. This is a paid training position for someone who is dependable, willing to learn, comfortable with physical work, and interested in building a long-term skilled-trades career. You will begin by working alongside experienced technicians, learning tools, jobsite preparation, installation methods, manufacturer requirements, safety practices, documentation, and customer-home professionalism. What You'll Do Assist experienced technicians with residential fireplace, stove, insert, venting, chimney, mantel, and related hearth installations. Load, unload, stage, and transport products, tools, venting, and job materials. Prepare and protect job sites, including floors, walls, furniture, and customer property. Use common hand tools, power tools, ladders, measuring equipment, and installation materials safely. Learn to read manufacturer instructions, job notes, plans, measurements, and installation requirements. Follow company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment. Document job progress accurately using photos, notes, checklists, and company software. Maintain clean, organized job sites, company vehicles, tools, equipment, and assigned materials. Communicate professionally with homeowners, builders, coworkers, and the office. Accept coaching, ask questions, and steadily work toward completing standard installations independently. Minimum Qualifications No prior trade or fireplace experience is required. Dependable attendance and punctuality- you show up on time and ready to work.

Level I:
After completing training, earning the required certification, and demonstrating the necessary competencies, an Installation Associate is expected to independently complete standard residential installations while continuing to improve technical skill and efficiency.Level I development includes:
builder-grade finals and rough-ins, deliveries, electric fireplaces, mantels and box shelves, vent-free products, gas logs, retail rough-ins, direct-vent inserts, and basic gas-fireplace service.Certification goal:
Installation Associates are expected to earn and maintain an active NFI Gas Specialist certification and participate in company-approved manufacturer and industry training.
