Columbus, NJ This is NOT an entry-level labor position. S&R Pools is looking for an experienced, dependable tradesman to join our installation team. We specialize in inground vinyl pool liners and safety covers. Pool experience is not required — we will train the right person in our specialized installation process. What we do require is someone who already knows how to work with tools, solve problems on a jobsite, work hard outdoors, and show up reliably every day. We are looking for someone who wants to stay with a company long-term and develop into a lead installer capable of running jobs independently. Who We're Looking For Ideal backgrounds include: Construction Carpentry Remodeling Handyman work Property maintenance HVAC Plumbing Electrical Roofing Landscaping or hardscaping Installation or field-service work Pool construction You should already be comfortable using hand and power tools and working on residential jobsites. What You'll Do Install inground vinyl pool liners Install swimming pool safety covers Prepare pools and jobsites for installation Use hand and power tools daily Measure, fit, adjust, troubleshoot, and complete installations Load and unload tools and materials Work outdoors in summer heat and changing weather Work with experienced installers while learning our process Progress toward completing jobs independently Eventually grow into a lead installer role What Matters Most to Us We are looking for someone who: Shows up every day and shows up on time Has a history of steady employment Takes pride in doing quality work Can think through problems instead of constantly needing direction Works well with a crew Is comfortable with physical outdoor work Takes care of customers' property Wants a long-term position rather than another short-term job Candidates who have stayed with previous employers for several years — or consistently returned to the same seasonal employer — will receive priority consideration. Requirements At least 2 years of recent hands-on trade, construction, maintenance, or installation experience Experience using hand and power tools Valid driver's license Reliable transportation Able to perform physical work including lifting, bending, kneeling, carrying materials, and climbing in and out of swimming pools Comfortable working outdoors during the summer Dependable attendance and punctuality Able to work independently once trained Pay & Benefits $27-$32/hr starting pay, based on experience and ability 40 hours of paid sick time Christmas bonus — discretionary and based on company performance, profitability, and individual contribution 4-week winter return bonus for eligible employees who return for the following season Monday-Friday schedule Overtime opportunities when available Fast raises as skills and responsibility increase Clear path to Lead Installer Specialized training in an in-demand trade Seasonal Schedule & Winter Return Bonus Our normal installation season runs approximately March through December. Employees are typically laid off for approximately 10 weeks during the winter. Employees who return for the following season and meet the return-bonus requirements receive a bonus equal to 4 weeks of regular pay, paid during their first month back. We are upfront about our seasonal schedule because we are looking for employees who want to return year after year and build a long-term career with us. Why S&R Pools?
