Officers will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and state property while delivering excellent customer service and professionalism. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm in high-traffic public environments. Responsibilities Provide a visible armed security presence at DMV facilities Monitor entrances, lobbies, waiting areas, and surrounding property Conduct foot patrols and observe for suspicious activity Respond to disturbances, emergencies, and incidents appropriately Enforce site policies and procedures Complete detailed incident and daily activity reports Assist staff and visitors in a professional manner Maintain communication with supervisors and dispatch Requirements MUST possess an active Virginia DCJS Armed Security Officer Certification Current firearms endorsement/certification required High school diploma or GED Reliable transportation Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Professional appearance and demeanor Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to pass background check and drug screening Preferred Qualifications Previous armed security experience Military or law enforcement background Experience working in government facilities or public settings
