Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter for the 2026-2027 school year. There are both full-time and part-time positions available, with assignments running from August 19, 2026, through May 20, 2027. If you're passionate about fostering communication and inclusion for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students, this position could be an excellent fit for your skills and career goals.
Key Qualifications:
Current National Sign Language Interpreter Certification (required) Demonstrated experience working in educational settings preferred Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with educators, staff, and students Professional, adaptable, and committed to student success
Responsibilities:
Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students, teachers, and staff in classroom and school activities Interpret instructional material, discussions, assemblies, and meetings as assigned Maintain strict confidentiality and professional ethics at all times Adapt interpreting techniques to meet student and situation needs within the school environment Serve as a valuable resource for staff regarding Deaf culture and communication access Participate in team meetings, IEP planning, and ongoing professional development Benefits for
