Job Description
Overview The Assistant Director supports the daily operations of the childcare center while helping uphold a Christ-centered environment for children, families, and staff. This role partners closely with the Director to ensure the program runs smoothly, safely, and in alignment with both licensing requirements and biblical values. The Assistant Director helps oversee classroom management, staff support, and communication with families. They step in to guide teachers, model positive interactions, and ensure that children are nurtured academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. A key part of the role is fostering a loving, patient, and respectful atmosphere that reflects Christian principles such as kindness, grace, and servant leadership. Responsibilities Responsible for maintaining excellent parent, staff, children, and community relationships Responsible for efficient daily operations, working in classrooms when necessary Responsible for assisting in all office, financial, and administrative duties as assigned by the Director Responsible for assuring all center compliance with Childcare Licensing, Sanitation, and Fire regulations Responsible for employee orientation and training Maintain a professional attitude and demeanor at all times Work closely with the Director and become a team that presents one vision to both employees and the church Responsible for attending staff, committee, management and church meetings as scheduled. Minimum Qualifications Must love children and be able to relate to them in a developmentally appropriate manner Must prescribe to and practice the Christian ethic and lifestyle Must be able to recognize and adhere to confidentiality when dealing with parents and center personnel Must be sufficient in health to perform requirements of all center positions, which will require lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods of time, and be in good mental health to be able to withstand the pressures and stress related to the position must be willing to increase knowledge in the field through attending workshops, conferences, and in-service training required by the Division of Child Development. Must have completed an Associate Degree in Early Childhood or an equivalent from an accredited Community College, a level 2 Early Childhood Administrative Credential and at least one year of office management experience Must have extensive knowledge of NC licensing, sanitation, and fire regulations Must have no less than four written references, two from employers, and two from either employee and.or parents that you have served Benefits No weekends Flexible Schedule Paid time off Paid Holidays Paid trainings and Developments Fun and positive place to work
