Assistant Innkeeper (Breakfast Lead & Guest Experience)

About The Marilyn Inn The Marilyn Inn is a newly reimagined boutique bed & breakfast located just steps from the Jersey Shore, featuring 21 thoughtfully designed rooms, including select ocean-view accommodations. Blending coastal charm with modern refinement, the experience is both elevated and effortlessly relaxed. As a newly launched property, we are building a hands-on, detail-oriented team dedicated to creating a stay that feels seamless, welcoming, and memorable at every touchpoint. Position Overview We're looking for a reliable, personable, and detail-oriented Innkeeper Assistant to support daily operations, with a strong focus on the morning guest experience and breakfast service. This unique role combines culinary creativity with guest services, making it perfect for someone who enjoys both cooking and hospitality, and takes pride in creating a welcoming, well-run environment. Key Responsibilities Morning & Breakfast Service Prepare and cook daily breakfast service, including two rotating hot specials Execute breakfast service from start to finish, including prep, cooking, plating, and breakdown Collaborate with the Innkeeper on menu planning, ordering, and inventory management Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times Assist with light baking or prep for the following day as needed Guest Services & Inn Support Assist with guest check-ins and general guest communication Provide local recommendations and respond to guest needs Help maintain cleanliness and presentation of common areas Support daily operations alongside the Innkeeper Step in where needed to ensure a smooth guest experience Laundry & Operational Support Assist with starting and managing laundry (linens and towels) Help coordinate flow between breakfast service and housekeeping turnover Communicate any maintenance or housekeeping issues promptly Qualifications 1+ year of hospitality, or customer service, and food service experience preferred Friendly, professional, and naturally hospitable personality Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team Able to work 7 days a week May
