Job Description
Zip's Drive In in Colfax, WA is hiring a reliable restaurant leader to begin immediately. This position may be filled as Assistant Manager, Assistant Manager Trainee, or Shift Lead, depending on experience, availability, leadership ability, and operational knowledge. Located in Colfax, approximately 17 miles from Pullman. Reliable transportation required. Starting wage is $18.50-$20.00/hour, depending on position placement and experience. Candidates with partial leadership or restaurant experience may be considered for Shift Lead or Assistant Manager Trainee placement starting at $18.50-$19.50/hour. Candidates with full assistant-manager-level experience may be considered for direct Assistant Manager placement starting at up to $20.00/hour. Future wage growth is available based on performance, reliability, leadership development, operational skill, expanded responsibility, and long-term commitment. This is a hands-on restaurant leadership role. The selected candidate will help lead shifts, support daily operations, train crew members, maintain food quality, protect cleanliness standards, assist with cash handling, and help keep the restaurant fast, organized, and guest-focused.
Responsibilities include:
Leading assigned shifts and helping ensure smooth daily operations. Supporting the General Manager with crew direction, training, accountability, food quality, cleanliness, and guest service. Working all major restaurant stations as needed, including front counter, drive-thru, cashier, food preparation, order assembly, stocking, cleaning, opening, and closing. Maintaining food-safety, sanitation, product quality, portion, speed, and accuracy standards. Handling customer concerns professionally and communicating operational issues to management. Following cash-handling procedures, including register accountability, refunds, voids, and shift cash controls. Using Toast POS and related restaurant systems for orders, cash handling, timekeeping, and operational procedures as assigned. Helping train new employees and providing clear direction to crew members during shifts.Required qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old. Must have reliable transportation to Colfax. Must be able to begin immediately or within a short hiring window. Must have strong attendance, punctuality, and availability. Must be available for evenings, weekends, and peak business periods as needed. Must be able to communicate clearly with customers, crew members, and management. Must be able to lead respectfully while maintaining standards. Must have or be able to obtain a Washington Food Worker Card within the required timeframe.Experience preferred:
Fast food, quick-service, drive-thru, diner, café, retail food, or similar customer-service experience. Shift lead, assistant manager, keyholder, team lead, or supervisory experience. Cash handling, opening/closing, food production, customer service, training, cleaning, and food-safety experience. Toast POS, Toast Payroll, or similar restaurant POS/payroll system experience is helpful but not required.Benefits and other compensation:

Must be able to stand and walk for duration of the shift, bend, reach, lift, carry, stock, clean, and perform repetitive tasks. Must be able to work around hot equipment, cold storage, food-service equipment, cleaning products, and wet or slippery surfaces. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.How to apply:
