Job Description

Ridgeway Assisted Living and Memory Care is hiring an Assistant Manager to be the House Manager's leadership partner — running shifts, supporting staff, holding documentation standards, and making sure every resident receives consistent, dignified care. When you are on duty you are the acting building leader: you set the tone, make decisions within scope, and escalate when it matters. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is calm under pressure, organized, and proud of doing senior care the right way. You and the House Manager share 24/7 coverage on a rotating schedule, so neither of you carries the building alone. Schedule & Coverage
  • Full-time, Saturday
  • Wednesday so coverage stays consistent and sustainable
  • During your assigned blocks you lead shift command, staff direction, resident oversight, and escalation $100 move-in bonus when you complete a resident's move-in paperwork and they stay 30 days (split per move-in between House Manager and Assistant Manager — only one bonus per move-in) What You'll Do Shift Execution & Staff Direction
  • Lead assigned shifts with clear task delegation and follow-through
  • Run shift huddles: assignments, resident priorities, safety reminders
  • Ensure staff complete rounds, ADLs, meals, engagement, housekeeping, documentation
  • Hold a calm, organized, respectful environment for residents and staff Resident Care Oversight
  • Make sure residents receive care aligned with their needs, routines, and dignity
  • Perform rounds to verify comfort, safety, hygiene, hydration, and engagement
  • Identify changes in condition and escalate promptly to the House Manager
  • Support behavior management with redirection, routine, and de-escalation Documentation & Medication Process
  • Keep shift documentation, logs, and eMAR entries accurate and on time
  • Order medication refills 5 days in advance — no gaps
  • Lead weekly Wednesday medication audits with the House Manager (split carts)
  • Run end-of-month medication audits for the upcoming month
  • Reinforce "chart only what you actually did" — no pre-charting, no guessing Incident Response & Coverage
  • Respond to incidents: stabilize → notify → document → follow up
  • Complete Incident Reports for the House Manager to review and submit
  • Help cover call-offs and staffing gaps during your assigned shifts
  • Assist with onboarding, training reinforcement, and attendance standards Who You Are
  • Calm, steady leader who can direct staff and keep the building running smoothly
  • Strong communicator under pressure — focuses on behavior, not personality
  • Reliable follow-through, high standards, detail-oriented documentation
  • Confident enough to lead, wise enough to know when to escalate
  • Team-first mindset — consistent across rotations so staff hear "one leadership voice" Lead or mentor experience preferred (or strong demonstrated leadership)
  • Ability to pass required background checks
  • Ability to work rotating weekends and a flexible coverage schedule Preferred
  • Michigan AFC or licensed residential care experience
  • Dementia care and behavior support training
  • Experience with audits, incident reporting, and staff coaching Why Ridgeway
  • Shared leadership model — you're not carrying the building alone
  • Small 30-bed home where every resident is known by name
  • Clear standards, real coaching, and a culture that treats staff with respect
  • Direct partnership with the House Manager and Administrator Apply through Indeed — we review applications daily.
