We're seeking an Assistant Manager who excels at connecting with people and achieving results. You'll help create an outstanding resident experience and play a vital role in leasing performance by managing tours, follow-ups, renewals, and marketing initiatives that keep occupancy high. Your efforts support the property's daily operations and directly contribute to the community's success. The Assistant Manager will support daily leasing and marketing efforts, respond to resident needs, coordinate maintenance services, assist with financial and administrative tasks, and help ensure compliance with housing regulations. This role requires strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with residents, vendors, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities Resident Experience & Tenant Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for residents by promptly and professionally responding to questions, concerns, and service requests. Support positive resident relationships, resolve concerns when possible, and escalate issues to the Property Manager when needed. Assist with resident engagement efforts to foster a welcoming, inclusive community. Leasing & Sales Respond to leasing inquiries, conduct property tours, manage follow-ups, and support closing efforts to meet occupancy goals. Assist with application processing, lease execution, renewals, and move-in/move-out coordination. Maintain accurate leasing files and records in accordance with FPS standards. Property Operations & Maintenance Coordination Coordinate maintenance work orders and vendor service requests to ensure timely resolution. Monitor property upkeep, safety, and curb appeal, addressing concerns as they arise. Support vendor performance by confirming work completion and maintaining appropriate documentation. Financial & Administrative Support Accurately process rent payments, support delinquency follow-up procedures, and maintain organized financial documentation. Assist with invoice submission, accounts receivable tracking, and monthly reconciliations under the direction of the Property Manager. Maintain organized digital and physical files, reports, and property documentation. Compliance & Reporting Assist in ensuring compliance with fair housing laws, lease terms, renewal policies, and company procedures. Maintain accurate data in property management software and ensure timely system updates for leasing, maintenance, and financial activity. Qualifications 1 year of experience in property management, with a focus on affordable housing. Strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills. Proficient in property management software and Microsoft Office. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. Work Environment & Travel This position is primarily onsite with occasional travel to other properties or regional meetings. Must be comfortable working in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Benefits Competitive salary based on experience.
