Assistant/Associate Professor of English—Department of English, Foreign Language, and Humanities

Position Available Full-time, nine-month, Assistant or Associate Professor of English. Salary, based on qualifications andexperience, is determined by the Vice President for Academic Affairs and University President and approved by the Regional University Systemof Oklahoma (RUSO). General Information Northwestern Oklahoma State University is a state-assisted regional institution inthe Regional University System of Oklahoma and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The student population is approximately2,100 students. Located in Alva, Oklahoma, and with additional campus locations in Enid and Woodward, the university is a center of activityfor the region. Available August 2026 Job Summary Northwestern invites applications for anassistant/associate professor position in the Department of English, Foreign Language, and Humanities. We seek a candidate with teachingexpertise in Victorian and modern British literature, or global literature. The successful candidate will be based on the Northwestern Alvacampus and teach a 27-hour load of undergraduate and occasional graduate-level English courses as well as humanities courses. Additionalresponsibilities will include student advising, participation in department recruiting efforts, program assessment and curriculumdevelopment, and committee and university service. Qualifications Minimum qualifications include a PhD from an accreditedinstitution in English and a demonstrated record of teaching composition and other writing courses. Applicants with advanced ABD standingwill be considered. A terminal degree awarded prior to August 2026 is required for appointment at the rank of assistant professor. Acommitment to distance education, including online and ITV delivery of instruction, is desirable. Closing Date Review ofapplications will begin immediately.
