Job Description

Job Overview We are a used car dealership/retail automotive repair shop seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Mechanic to join our service team. We have the benefit of doing our own recon work and retail customer work ensuring that we are always busy! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, diagnostics, and maintenance, with experience working on a variety of vehicle makes and models. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing advanced tools and technologies to ensure vehicles are maintained and repaired to the highest standards. Candidates with dealership experience and expertise in modern automotive systems are highly preferred. The position involves performing routine maintenance, complex repairs, and diagnostics to keep our customers' vehicles running smoothly and safely. Duties Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics using advanced automotive electrical systems and schematics Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, powertrain components, and suspensions Execute oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, shocks & struts replacements, and brake repairs Repair and maintain diesel engines, ADAS systems, air brakes, and other specialized vehicle components Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools effectively Perform auto body repairs when necessary and assist with vehicle maintenance tasks Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues Conduct auto estimating for repairs and communicate findings clearly to customers Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency Skills Proven dealership or automotive repair experience with a strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and diagnostics Proficiency in working with schematics, auto estimating software, and diagnostic tools Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems including transmissions, powertrain, suspension, alignment, shocks & struts Experience repairing GM vehicles is a plus; familiarity with diesel engine repair is desirable Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive service tools Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain repairs clearly to clients Ability to perform auto body repair tasks when required Knowledge of auto estimating processes for accurate billing and documentation Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing vehicle issues This position offers a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for experienced automotive mechanics committed to quality service and continuous learning.
