Aitkin Public Schools Aitkin School District #1 is searching for a 1.0 FTE 5-12 band teacher to start in August of the 2026-27 school year. The full-time position serves the students in Grades 5-12 . A Minnesota Teacher Certification is required in Instrumental and classroom music 5-12. The band instructor must be well organized, creative and be able to instruct students in the concert, jazz and pep band along with middle school general music education classes. The selected applicant will be responsible for directing the elementary, middle and high school grade level bands. The Aitkin School District Band/Choir programs have access to a large auditorium that will seat up to 750 guests along with large classrooms. The main classroom is equipped with a LDC projector and Apple TV, and three practice rooms. The district is currently using the (LMS) Learning Management System called Canvas to enhance and deliver classroom instruction. Aitkin is home to the Riverwood Healthcare facility with over 60 physicians, specialists and surgeons. The city of Aitkin is also the home of the Aitkin County seat.
