Seasonal, with potential of year-round employment The Homestead Resort The Homestead is a destination resort located on the shore of Lake Michigan inside the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, and has been chosen by the viewers of Good Morning America as the "Most Beautiful Place in America.". Our goals for guest service are highly elevated, proactive and personalized as we warmly welcome every guest and provide heartfelt support at every interaction. Job Description We are seeking a highly organized and energetic Banquet Captain to be responsible for the successful setup, execution, and breakdown of all banquet and event functions. The Banquet Captain leads frontline staff, ensures service standards are met, and acts as the primary point of contact between the sales team, kitchen, and service team while ensuring the timely and accurate services of food and beverage for our events. Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of all events according to specific banquet event orders, visual arrangements, and timelines.
  • Ensure that all guest experiences are exceptional, from the initial planning stages to post-event feedback.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (kitchen staff, housekeeping, front desk, food and beverage) to ensure all aspects of the event run seamlessly.
  • Manage the setup and breakdown of event spaces, ensuring that the venue is always presented to the highest standard.
  • Ensure all events comply with resort health and safety guidelines, including crowd management, emergency procedures, and food safety. Qualifications
  • Previous experience in event planning or event coordination, ideally with a focus on the day-of logistics and execution.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership, delegation, and team management skills.
  • Detail-orientated with a focus on guest experience and service standards.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. Compensation Starting at $23/per hour (range) Benefits
