Job Description
We are a national mental health treatment provider. The primary role of the Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is in providing direct and support services to female or male drug and alcohol abusers. Specifically, the two main functions of the BHT are 1) supervision of the clients and 2) ensuring their participation in treatment related services. This may occur either at the clinical offices or at the community housing setting. The BHT is responsible for a variety of routine, basic tasks essential to the smooth operation of the program. BHT function under the supervision of the Program Director. Work is performed in accordance with established regulations, policies, and procedures, but employees are expected to exercise significant initiative and independent judgment in discharging duties. Work is reviewed by Program Director through an evaluation of the timely and accurate completion of assignments.

•Must have behavioral health or mental health experience•DUTIES:
1. Assists in supervision of client activities and be always aware of client whereabouts, including breaks and internal activities. 2. Attend all mandatory trainings and in-house conferences/seminars as directed by their immediate Supervisor. 3. When working at the clinical offices, empties trash cans, ash trays, picks up garbage on the property, makes copies or anything that it requested by supervisor. 4. Provides a brief overview of the housing program regarding program rules, procedures, and services, with each new client. 5. Maintains order and ensures compliance with rules and regulations; ensures that clients conduct themselves in an orderly manner when on agency property or in agency vehicles. 6. Monitors clients for signs of medical distress and/or behavioral concerns on an ongoing basis and through routine bed checks, and addresses and documents where necessary. 7. Provides appropriate support and structure for clients in dealing with their recovery; interacts continually with clients 8. Facilitates residents' community meetings. 9. Escorts clients to in-house and outside meetings. 10. Ensures client wake-up and bedtime, escorts residents on shopping trips, recreation, medical appointments etc. 11. Escorts clients within building or to hospital or other services when necessary. 12. Provides transportation for clients to our facility or having outside meetings or appointments. 13. May be required to escort clients on store runs, when necessary, for the purchase of personal items. 14. Monitors clients' cleaning chores. 15. Always enforces program rules. 16. Gets daily mail, observes confidentiality standards, and distributes to clients. 17. Monitors client consumption of medications double-checks client medication log-sheets to ensure client consumption of medication. Documents client consumption of medications on the Medication Sheet as directed by the Medical Liaison or designee. 18. Secures client urines according to established policy & procedures ensuring that all safety, sanitation, and security measures are adhered to. Completes all required documentation on the urine form and logs. 19. Completes Q's every 15 or 30 minutes as directed to ensure supervision and safety of all clients. 20. Records accurate and up-to-date reports on every client for the three shift reports. 21. Continually updates Bed List ensuring that all admissions and discharges are recorded in a timely fashion. 22. Randomly inspects all rooms, common areas, hallways, and bathrooms every thirty minutes and performs a thorough search for contraband not less than once weekly. 23. Receives and distributes client linens. 24. Keeps count of linens and other supplies and writes supply requisitions when needed. 25. Cleans beds and clears out table drawers, etc. after client is discharged from program. 26. Responds appropriately to all medical and other emergencies. 27. Whenever assigned to drive agency vehicles for any reason, all BHT's are responsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles entrusted to their care. 28. Performs other duties, tasks, and services as assigned by the Clinical Director or supervisor on duty. 29. Reports to the supervisor any discrepancies in clients' whereabouts. 30. Confiscates and secures any contraband found and notifies the appropriate supervisor on duty. 31. Conducts comprehensive and random room and unit searches with program management staff, when assigned. 32. Conducts search of all client bags when being admitted to the facility. Confiscates and secures any contraband found and notifies the appropriate Clinical Director or supervisor on duty in their absence. 33. Must have Driver's License.MENTAL HEALTH EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
