293363070 Job Description Dates of operating are June 29-July 30 Monday-Thursday Training days to be scheduled The bilingual office /program assistants will work jointly with the Summer School Program Director and intervention staff in the implementation of daily events and activities for youth, ages 5-13. Along with answering phones, checking students in and out, communication with bus driver. Wage per hour $18-$20 per hr. external, internal reflect the persons current general-ed para wage. One position 7:00-2:30 7 hours a day for 20 program days, 30 minute duty free lunch, plus one 2 hour day of training and prep.
Para / Office
The para / office assistant will work jointly with the summer school program and intervention staff in the implementation of daily events and activities for youth, ages 5-13.
  • Implement curriculum.
  • Oversee the classroom environment to support youth and classroom goals.
  • Encourage and support youth participation in the activities and learning experience.
  • Supervise meals
  • Participate in program meetings and partner with organization staff.
  • Assist in organizing and supervising field trips
  • Provide office support and/or assist in supervision on the bus as needed
  • Answer phone calls.
  • Communicate with parents
  • Checking students in and out
  • Communicate with bus driver over radio
  • Communicate with program director any issues that need to be addressed.
Priority to persons:
  • with extensive second language acquisition such as, but not limited to trainings as GLAD, S.
l.

O.P., etc.
  • Prior experience with project-based learning
  • Experience working with multi-cultural youth who may have been exposed to poverty, gang violence, and substance abuse
  • Experience working in a training or education environment preferred
Minimum Job Requirements:
    Education:
    High school diploma or GED required; two years of college preferred
    • Ability to provide quality student mentoring and coaching, as well as small group and individualized instruction.
    Specific Skills/Knowledge/Licenses:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Office, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Must have valid WA State driver's license
    • Blood borne Pathogen training (provided)
    • Boundary training (provided)
    Required Qualifications:
    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
    • Bilingual / Bi-literate in English / Spanish
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Proficiency in Data entry and technology skills
    Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance Essential Physical Abilities:
    • Able to safely lift/push/pull up to 10 lbs. for short distances.
    • Perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers, wrists and arms.
    • Able to traverse a wide variety of physical indoor and outdoor environments without assistance including uneven surfaces and stairs.
    • Able to communicate with others effectively, verbally and in writing, including those who have limited English skills, large groups and small groups, and individuals.
    • Able to use standard office equipment without assistance.
    • Able to maintain reliable attendance.
