Blaster (Powder Coating)

RDF&P, Inc. Job Summary RDF&P is a fast-paced, team-oriented metal fabrication company looking for a Blaster to join our powder coating team in Joseph, Oregon. We build everything from structural pedestals for the semiconductor industry to handrails for the local community, so no two projects are the same. In this role, you will prepare metal surfaces for powder coating by operating blasting equipment and ensuring proper surface conditions for a high-quality finish. This position plays a key part in delivering durable, professional coatings across a wide range of industrial and commercial products. We're looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and ready to work in a hands-on production environment. A flexible schedule is required—hours may vary based on workload, and overtime (including mandatory) may be required.
Requirements:
OSHA-compliant work boots (employee-provided) Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening Key Responsibilities Operate sandblasting and other blasting equipment to clean and prepare metal surfaces Set up and adjust blasting equipment to meet project specifications Inspect parts for contamination, defects, or surface issues prior to processing Maintain proper containment and cleanliness of blast media area Work closely with the powder coating team to ensure parts are properly prepped Follow all safety procedures, including OSHA standards and required PPE Additional Duties Handle and control a pressurized blasting hose (over-the-shoulder operation) Perform routine maintenance on blasting equipment Operate a forklift (or be willing to learn) Use basic hand tools and production equipment Keep the blast room and work area clean and organized Follow supervisor instructions and meet production requirements Use proper lifting techniques and maintain safe work practices at all times Qualifications Strong attention to detail Ability to work in a physically demanding environment Physical strength and stamina required to handle heavy, pressurized equipment Mechanical aptitude is a plus Prior blasting, coating, or industrial experience is preferred but not required Pay & Benefits We offer a strong benefits package after a 90-day probationary period, including: Medical, dental, and vision insurance ( 90% employer-paid ) $25,000 employer-paid life insurance policy Aflac supplemental insurance options 401(k) with up to 4% employer match Why Join RDF&P? Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
