Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Body Shop Estimator to join our automotive service team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for customers needing collision repair estimates and will serve as a key liaison between clients, insurance companies, and our repair technicians. Your expertise will ensure accurate damage assessments, transparent communication, and efficient workflow management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your automotive knowledge and customer service skills to deliver exceptional service and support the repair process from start to finish. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to assess collision damage, including auto body repair, mechanical issues, and related systems such as transmissions, suspensions, and alignments. Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using auto estimating software, ensuring all necessary repairs—such as brake repair, tire service, oil changes, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and diesel engine repairs—are accounted for. Communicate clearly with customers about repair procedures, costs, and timelines while maintaining a positive customer experience through excellent service writing and customer service skills. Collaborate with insurance adjusters to facilitate claims processing and ensure estimates align with insurance requirements. Coordinate with technicians and parts departments to schedule repairs efficiently and monitor progress to meet deadlines. Upsell additional services such as vehicle maintenance or preventive repairs by identifying customer needs during the estimation process. Handle cash transactions accurately when necessary and maintain detailed records of all estimates, repairs, and customer interactions. Experience Proven dealership experience or automotive service management background is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, auto body repair, transmissions, suspension systems, tire service, shocks & struts, brake repair, oil changes, air brake systems, alignment services, diesel engine repairs, and other automotive repairs. Familiarity with auto estimating software and service writing procedures is essential. Demonstrated ability in auto sales or automobile sales environments is advantageous. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Experience in upselling additional services or products confidently while maintaining integrity. Knowledge of cash handling procedures and insurance claim processes related to vehicle repairs. $49,920.00 - $55,626.38 per year
