Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented part-time Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team of countertop professionals in a busy shop. In this vital role, you will manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring the integrity of our accounting processes, and will report to and work closely with the business owners. Your expertise will support our organization's financial health by handling day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, reconciling accounts, and preparing essential financial reports. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving organization committed to transparency, accuracy, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, proficiency with various accounting software, and a passion for precise financial management. Responsibilities Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks. Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to ensure all accounts are balanced correctly. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently while adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Prepare journal entries, conduct account analysis, and perform balance sheet reconciliation regularly. Manage payroll and employee benefits processing, including tax compliance and related reporting requirements. Assist with budgeting activities and support financial report writing for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and maintain meticulous documentation for audit readiness. Skills Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken or similar tools. Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including double entry bookkeeping and debits & credits. Knowledge of construction/trades accounting practices is a plus. Experience with trade software such as Moraware or BuilderTrend is also a plus. Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and general ledger accounting tasks accurately. Familiarity with local WA tax regulations related to payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting is a must. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks such as bank reconciliation, journal entries, and account analysis efficiently. Proficiency in 10 key typing for data entry accuracy; strong attention to detail in financial concepts and technical accounting procedures.
