Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Bookkeeper to manage the full-cycle bookkeeping needs of a multi-client portfolio. This is an in-office, full-time position focused on producing clean, accurate, and reconciled books for approximately 65+ client businesses throughout the month. The core of this role is reconciliation — bank accounts, loans, payroll, and year-end tie-out. You must be able to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and deliver work that is audit-ready. Payroll experience is a plus but is not required. Core Responsibilities Reconciliation & Year-End Reconcile client bank accounts, credit cards, and loans monthly Match payroll records and loan entries to corresponding bank transactions Perform year-end tie-out: reconcile books to tax returns, ensure all accounts are closed accurately, and confirm all balances are supported Identify and resolve discrepancies between client records and bank or payroll data Gross up payroll figures to reconcile to W-3 totals; ensure payroll tax deposits align with reported wages Bookkeeping Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients in QuickBooks Post and categorize transactions, journal entries, and expense allocations per best practices Develop and maintain client charts of accounts; ensure consistent and accurate categorization Maintain and organize client portals and digital records Reconcile tax return inputs to client books; flag discrepancies for review Payroll Support (Nice to Have) Process client payroll and maintain accurate payroll records if applicable Assist with quarterly payroll reports, filings, and deposits Update employee records, tax statuses, and garnishments as needed Administration & Communication Maintain organized, up-to-date digital files for each client Communicate clearly with clients and team members to gather documentation and resolve open items Support workflow management and contribute to internal process improvements Qualifications Required Minimum 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a multi-client environment Demonstrated experience with bank reconciliation, year-end close, and reconciling books to tax returns Experience grossing up payroll and reconciling to W-3 totals Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop) and Microsoft 365 Strong attention to detail with a consistent commitment to accuracy Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines simultaneously High level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information Minimum 45 WPM typing speed and 10-key proficiency Preferred Payroll processing experience Familiarity with Jetpack Workflow or similar practice management software Experience with federal and Oregon state payroll tax filing Education Associate's degree or professional certification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field preferred Equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience will be considered Compensation & Benefits $24.00
