Nonexempt Summary:
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and processing school financial transactions in accordance with local, state, and division policies and procedures. The bookkeeper supports the daily financial operations of the school, including activity funds, accounts payable, deposits, payroll-related documentation, and financial reporting.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Maintain accurate records of school financial transactions and activity funds 2. Process receipts, deposits, purchase orders, invoices, and reimbursements 3. Reconcile bank statements and school accounts regularly 4. Prepare and maintain financial reports and supporting documentation 5. Monitor budgets and account balances for school departments, clubs, and athletics 6. Collect and record student fees, fundraising proceeds, and other school-generated funds 7. Ensure compliance with school division financial procedures and audit requirements 8. Assist with payroll-related documentation and timekeeping records, as assigned 9. Work collaboratively with administrators, staff, vendors, and the finance department 10. Maintain confidentiality of financial and personnel information 11. Provide excellent customer service to students, parents, staff, and community members 12. Assist with annual audits and financial reviews 13. Operate standard office equipment and financial software systems 14. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designeeSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate must possess any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school including or supplement by courses in general office practices and procedures and clerical and secretarial experiences 1. High school diploma or equivalent required 2. Associates degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred 3. Previous bookkeeping, accounting, or school finance experience preferred 4. Experience with school activity funds and state financial reporting procedures 5. Experience using financial management software unitized by the school division 6. Knowledge of public school accounting practices and audit proceduresKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS PHYSICAL DEMANDS
