Bridge Classroom Teacher The Goddard School - 3.1 Independence, OH Job Details Full-time $15.50 - $18.50 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Licensed childcare center experience Full Job Description The Goddard School in Independence, OH is looking for a caring, patient, and dependable Full-Time Bridge Classroom Teacher to work with children ages 2.5 to 3 years old. Our Bridge classroom is the important step between toddlerhood and preschool. Children in this classroom are growing quickly, building independence, learning classroom routines, strengthening language and social skills, and preparing for the expectations of a preschool environment. Many children in this classroom are still working on toileting readiness and are not yet potty trained, so patience, consistency, and a calm approach are very important. We are looking for someone who enjoys this busy and rewarding age group and understands how to balance structure, nurturing care, fun, and developmentally appropriate expectations. Responsibilities The Bridge Classroom Teacher will help: Care for and supervise children ages 2.5 to 3 years old Support children as they build independence, confidence, and classroom routines Help with diapering, pull-ups, bathroom routines, and toileting readiness Use positive guidance and consistent expectations throughout the day Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities Support language development, social skills, self-help skills, and problem-solving Help children practice sharing, turn-taking, listening, and following directions Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom Support meals, rest time, transitions, outdoor play, and daily routines Communicate professionally with families and coworkers Work closely with co-teachers to keep the classroom running smoothly Follow Ohio childcare licensing rules, health and safety procedures, and school policies What We're Looking For Qualified candidates should have: Experience working in a licensed childcare center preferred Experience with toddlers, older toddlers, or young preschoolers A calm, patient, and positive approach with children Comfort assisting children who are not yet potty trained Strong classroom management skills Dependability and strong attendance The ability to work well as part of a teaching team Willingness to follow routines, lesson plans, licensing rules, and school expectations Professional communication with families and staff A genuine interest in helping children grow socially, emotionally, and developmentally
