Job Description

Are you organized, professional, and comfortable communicating with people by phone? Our busy law firm is seeking a Collections Agent to join our team. This position works directly with taxpayers to resolve delinquent accounts while also assisting with collection and litigation activities. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can manage a high volume of accounts, stay organized, document activity accurately, and provide professional service in a fast-paced legal environment. What You'll Do
  • Make outbound collection calls and receive inbound calls from taxpayers
  • Communicate professionally with taxpayers regarding delinquent accounts
  • Establish and manage payment arrangements
  • Perform skip tracing to locate updated taxpayer contact information
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of collection efforts and account activity
  • Manage a high volume of calls, accounts, and follow-up activity
  • Meet with taxpayers as needed regarding their accounts
  • Review account and case information to determine appropriate next steps
  • Assist with collection and litigation-related activities
  • Prepare correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents as needed
  • Conduct research and review various information sources to help move cases forward
  • Assist with preparing lawsuits through trial-ready status
  • Perform data entry and update case information accurately
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned What You Need
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Professional phone etiquette and customer-service skills
  • Ability to manage a high volume of calls and multiple accounts simultaneously
  • Basic computer knowledge and strong data-entry skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to type approximately 50 words per minute
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and awareness of deadlines and surrounding activity
  • At least one year of legal experience preferred
  • Previous collections experience preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • 10-key experience is a plus What We Offer

Pay:
$26,000.00 - $32,000.00 per year
