This is a hands-on position for an experienced medical billing professional who understands the complexities of insurance reimbursement and enjoys solving problems, researching difficult claims, and making sure the practice is appropriately reimbursed for the services it provides. We are looking for someone with strong revenue cycle experience who can bring knowledge, judgment, persistence, and attention to detail to our billing operations. Responsibilities Manage and follow up on outstanding insurance claims and accounts receivable Research and resolve claim denials, rejections, underpayments, and payment discrepancies Prepare and submit insurance appeals and supporting documentation Review EOBs and ERAs to ensure payments and adjustments are accurate Investigate unpaid and incorrectly paid claims and determine the appropriate resolution Communicate with insurance companies and clearinghouses regarding claim issues Research payer policies, billing requirements, and reimbursement guidelines Identify recurring billing issues and bring potential solutions forward Monitor A/R aging and prioritize follow-up appropriately Identify opportunities to improve collections and reduce preventable denials Assist with identifying front-end issues that may result in billing or reimbursement problems Work collaboratively with other members of the billing and administrative team Maintain accurate and timely billing documentation and follow-up Assist with special billing and revenue cycle projects as needed Provide support and expertise on complex billing questions and issues What We're Looking For The successful candidate will have strong hands-on medical billing and revenue cycle experience and be comfortable working independently on complex issues.
Required:
5+ years of medical billing/revenue cycle experience preferred Strong knowledge of insurance billing and reimbursement Experience with Medicare and commercial insurance Significant experience with claim follow-up and denial resolution Understanding of EOBs, ERAs, CARCs/RARCs, claim status, and payment reconciliation Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities Ability to research an issue and determine the appropriate resolution Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team Comfortable working with confidential patient and financial information A Strong Candidate Will Understand that effective revenue cycle work involves more than simply submitting claims Be persistent when resolving difficult or aging claims Recognize when a claim, payment, or adjustment doesn't look right Enjoy researching and solving complex billing issues Pay attention to patterns and recurring problems Take initiative and follow issues through to resolution Be organized and able to prioritize competing work Communicate clearly and professionally with payers and coworkers Take pride in accuracy and getting things right Preferred Experience Physician practice billing Dermatology or other specialty practice billing Medicare and commercial payer billing Denial and appeal management A/R analysis and follow-up Clearinghouse experience Practice management/EHR systems Why Join Clearview Dermatology?
