This is not a position where you will sit at a desk doing the same thing every day. We are a busy, growing Florida solar company, and we need someone who is organized, dependable, computer-savvy, resourceful, and willing to jump in wherever needed. You will work directly with the company owner and help keep the administrative and operational side of the business organized and moving forward. What You'll Be Doing Your responsibilities will include: Basic bookkeeping and financial record organization Tracking active jobs from sale through completion Keeping customer and project information organized and up to date Working within our CRM and other company software Answering incoming phone calls and assisting customers Managing documents, spreadsheets, emails, and electronic files Following up with customers, vendors, employees, and subcontractors Helping coordinate schedules and project-related tasks Preparing and organizing paperwork Assisting with general office administration Occasionally making local deliveries, pickups, or other errands Completing additional tasks and special projects assigned by the company owner In a nutshell: your job is to help keep the company organized and make sure things don't fall through the cracks.
Who We're Looking For:
The right person for this position is someone who naturally takes ownership of their work. You should be the type of person who sees something that needs to be done and handles it rather than waiting to be reminded.
Required qualifications:
Strong organizational and follow-up skills Experience working with CRM software Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel Comfortable learning new software and technology Professional phone and communication skills Strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities at once Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license Ability to perform occasional local pickups and deliveries Dependable and able to maintain a consistent weekly schedule Bookkeeping or QuickBooks experience is strongly preferred. Experience in construction, solar, home improvement, project management, or a similar industry is a plus, but solar experience is not required. Schedule This is approximately a 20-hour-per-week position . We can be flexible about the specific days and hours, but once a schedule is established, consistency and reliability are important. The position will ideally be performed primarily from our office because you will be working closely with ownership and our team. Why This Position Is Different Sailfish Solar is not an out-of-state solar sales organization or call center. We are a real Florida-based solar contractor that has been serving customers for more than a decade. You'll have the opportunity to work directly alongside the company owner and see firsthand how a growing solar construction company operates — including sales, estimating, project management, permitting, construction, customer service, and business operations. For someone who wants to learn, there is a tremendous amount of opportunity here. We're not looking for someone who simply wants to punch a clock for 20 hours a week. We're looking for someone who wants to become an important part of the company and takes pride in keeping things organized and getting things done. Interested? We are seeking one person for this position. If you're highly organized, dependable, comfortable with technology, and enjoy being the person who keeps everything moving behind the scenes, we'd like to hear from you.
