Job Description

Job Overview Pest Control Center is hiring a Horticultural Administrative Assistant to support our lawn, weed, turf, tree, and ornamental care operations. This is an in-office role and the hub between customers, horticultural technicians, and management. You will schedule services, keep accounts accurate in FieldRoutes, work in property management portals, and communicate clearly with customers and the field team. We want a motivated, well-spoken person who is comfortable with technology, patient on the phone, and able to work independently as well as with a close-knit team. Strong verbal and written communication is essential. Key Responsibilities Customer Support Schedule horticultural appointments and coordinate with field technicians so routes, seasonal programs, and customer commitments stay on track. Review horticultural accounts and answer questions about lawn, weed, turf, tree, and shrub services with patience and professionalism. Connect customers with their assigned horticultural technician when a field-level conversation will serve them best. Recommend additional horticultural services that fit the property and improve results. Process work orders, quotes, and requested documents promptly and accurately. Field Support Create and schedule appointments for horticultural technicians, including follow-ups, weather make-ups, and seasonal treatments. Process payments and keep billing information current. Maintain customer cards, service notes, and account details in FieldRoutes with a high standard of accuracy. Management Support Flag technician, route, or customer accounts that need special attention. Handle scheduling, account cleanup, quoting support, and other tasks as directed by management. Prepare simple reports that help the horticultural team stay efficient. Horticultural Department Support Schedule lawn, weed, turf, tree, shrub, vegetation, and related horticultural services. Prepare and manage documents in FieldRoutes and property management portals. Answer questions about treatments, timing, weather delays, program details, and paperwork. Pass special instructions and account updates to horticultural technicians so field service is seamless. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or relevant certification preferred. 1-2 years of administrative or customer service experience, preferably in pest control, landscaping, horticulture, or a related service industry. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the patience and attention to detail this department requires. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Well-spoken, professional, and able to explain services in plain language.
Technologically inclined:
proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ready to learn FieldRoutes, scheduling tools, and property management portals quickly. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team; able to handle sensitive customer information with confidentiality. Experience with payment processing, billing systems, or CRM software is a plus. Knowledge of lawn, weed, turf, or ornamental care is a plus; willingness to learn horticultural services is required.
