PAY RANGE
$20.00 - $22.00/hr Based on experience, education and qualifications.
Summary:
The Receptionist is the primary point of contact for guests and plays a critical role in shaping first impressions of the museum. This position focuses on guest communication, ticketing support, and resolving common issues efficiently and courteously, helping ensure a smooth and welcoming guest experience. Because all Resurrection! Center at Christ Cathedral employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work. The position of Receptionist consists of some or all of the following duties: Greet guests and assist with check-in, ticketing, and entry questions. Respond to phone calls and guest emails as assigned. Look up orders, assist with reschedules and refunds, and resolve ticketing issues utilizing our ticketing system. Provide clear wayfinding and set expectations for entry times and procedures. Maintain accurate records when collecting guest information for rescheduling or follow-up. Escalate complex issues to the Shift Lead or management when necessary. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Strong customer service and communication skills. Professional demeanor and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks while interacting with guests. Basic computer proficiency and comfort learning new systems. Physical ability to stand and move throughout the museum space for extended periods. Commitment to the mission of the Catholic Church.
Preferred:
Prior experience in reception, front desk, or customer service roles. Familiarity with Eventbrite or similar ticketing platforms. Experience working in a museum, hospitality, or event setting. Practicing Roman Catholic Work Conditions The position primarily involves work in an office setting within the museum premises, requiring frequent use of office equipment such as computers, telephones, printers, and filing systems. Evening and weekend work is required to accommodate museum programs and events. Must be available to adjust the schedule as needed to meet the needs of the museum community and activities. Regular interaction with children, youth, adults, and volunteers in a professional and faith-based environment. Some local travel may be required for museum and diocesan meetings or events. Physical Requirements Ability to remain seated for extended periods while performing administrative tasks. Frequent walking, standing, and moving around the museum to support programs and events. Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds, such as program materials, supplies, and event setups. Manual dexterity required for operating office equipment, creating materials, and managing paperwork. Visual and auditory ability to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and museum guests in person, via email, and by phone. Must be able to set up and dismantle chairs, tables, and other equipment needed for museum activities as required.
