We are looking to add the right professional to our team today! The right professional will be highly customer service driven and a team player. This position requires industry knowledge, attention to detail, adaptability, self-motivation, and organizational aptitude. The employee will have a positive attitude and a professional approach when interacting with customers and with colleagues in our marketing, customer service, sales and operations departments. We are seeking the following qualified candidate: Arborist with minimum 2 years of experience in arboricultural services Regional plant and horticulture knowledge: Tree Identification Pest identification and control, Pruning principles and techniques, Diagnostic and recommendation skills Excellent sales and communication skills Good people skills; self-motivated; computer proficient and organized, and the ability to identify, prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner. The individual needs to have computer skills including working knowledge of Micro-Soft Office products. Training will be provided for specific work-related programs. The employee must be able to work well with others. DUTIES The Arborist is responsible for performing safe, efficient, and high-quality tree care work in accordance with company procedures and accepted arboricultural practices. Perform tree pruning, removals, planting, cabling, bracing, stump grinding, and other tree care services. Climb trees using appropriate climbing systems, ropes, saddles, and fall-protection equipment when qualified to do so. Operate aerial lifts, chainsaws, pole saws, chippers, stump grinders, loaders, and other tree care equipment as trained and authorized. Assist with rigging, lowering, and controlled removal of limbs and tree sections. Identify visible tree defects, hazards, decay, structural concerns, and unsafe site conditions and report them to the crew leader or supervisor. Follow job specifications and proper pruning practices to maintain tree health, structure, clearance, and appearance. Participate in daily job briefings and site hazard assessments. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, ANSI standards, and required work practices. Maintain required clearance from energized conductors and follow applicable electrical hazard procedures. Wear and properly maintain required personal protective equipment. Inspect climbing gear, rigging equipment, chainsaws, tools, and other equipment before use. Assist with equipment setup, breakdown, loading, unloading, and securement. Feed brush into chippers and assist with debris removal and job-site cleanup. Safely handle logs, limbs, brush, ropes, tools, and materials throughout the workday. Protect customer property, landscaping, structures, vehicles, utilities, and surrounding areas during operations. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site. Perform basic equipment maintenance and report damaged or unsafe equipment. Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors during tree care operations. Assist with traffic and pedestrian control when required. Complete required safety, equipment, and job documentation. Participate in training and continuing education related to arboriculture, safety, equipment operation, and industry best practices. Assist with storm damage and emergency tree work when needed. Represent Dorshak Tree Specialists professionally while working on customer, municipal, commercial, and public properties. Perform additional tree care and grounds-related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

Physical Demands The Certified Arborist Foreman position requires the physical ability to safely perform and supervise tree care operations in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.

Essential physical demands may include:

Frequently standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday. Regularly lifting and carrying tools, equipment, logs, brush, and other materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently , with heavier items requiring team lifting or mechanical assistance. Climbing trees and/or operating aerial lifts, including working at significant heights while using appropriate fall-protection equipment. Maintaining balance and body control while working on uneven terrain, slopes, around tree debris, and in elevated work positions. Repetitively using the hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders when operating chainsaws, pole saws, ropes, rigging equipment, hand tools, and other tree-care equipment. Gripping, pulling, and manipulating ropes and rigging systems for extended periods. Entering and exiting trucks, loaders, chippers, aerial lifts, and other equipment throughout the workday. Working around loud equipment and machinery while wearing required personal protective equipment. Performing physically demanding work for extended periods in heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, and other outdoor conditions. Possessing sufficient vision, hearing, depth perception, coordination, and situational awareness to recognize hazards and safely direct employees, equipment, traffic, and tree-care operations. Remaining capable of responding quickly to changing job-site conditions or emergency situations.
