Position Summary TerraAg Farm Management is seeking a skilled and dependable Almond Shaker Operator to assist in harvest activities and maintain orchard health. This role is primarily responsible for the efficient and safe operation of tree shaking equipment to harvest almonds while ensuring minimal damage to the trees. The operator will also assist with general orchard maintenance, equipment upkeep, and peak-season harvest operations.

Key Responsibilities Harvest Operations:

Operate tree shakers to remove almonds from trees efficiently.

Equipment Operation:

Drive and maintain shakers. Previous experience with Mono Boom shakers required.

Maintenance & Repairs:

Monitor equipment for malfunctions or unusual sounds and report safety concerns promptly.

Quality Control:

Inspect crops during the harvest cycle to ensure machinery is staged correctly and crop quality is maintained.

Qualifications Experience:

Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in almond orchard operations, specifically with shaker machinery.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in tractor operation and general mechanical aptitude for basic machinery troubleshooting.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment Physical Stamina:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials up to 50 pounds throughout long shifts.

Environmental Tolerance:

Ability to work in dusty, noisy, and temperature-variable outdoor environments common in the Central Valley.

Safety Gear:

Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, hearing protection, and dust masks.

Availability:

Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and seasonal shifts during the peak almond harvest season. Work Environment Work requires being in an outside environment, exposed to the elements; temperatures may reach above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Work exposes workers to subject hazards; including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts and moving farm equipment. While performing duties of this job workers may be exposed to significant noise and vibration associated with the use of farm equipment.

Pay:

$20.00 per hour
